Not necessary your *worst* week, but maximum effort/time for minimum achievement.
My week:
1. Salem, OR to Stockton, CA. Stupid ass wind. Scary driving through south OR. Wind was pulling the steering wheel from my hands. Saw an overturn empty stogie. Noped out and made the choice to shutdown for 34 hours.
2. Oakdale, CA. Show up early 3am to pick up loaded trailer. It’s right there ready to go. Power outage in the area due to high wind. Can’t release the trailer. I wait 4 extra hours.
3. Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Pick up appt at 4pm (any appt at 4pm in LA county = stupid idea). Come back next morning at 3am. Pick up loaded, scale in Ontario (worst truck stops ever). Overweight. Waited 4 hours for rework. Takes an hour to reweight due to traffic in area.
4. Henderson, NV. “Live” Unload at Amazon. ITS AMAZON. Need I say more? This place is ran by Karens and high school kids. Wasted 5 hours and hunted for parking with 10mins left on my 14.
5. North Las Vegas, NV. Started at 3am today. Picked up loaded trailer. Entire brake drum is GONE. Not even mad because I 100% expected shit to go wrong. Will wait for repair.
I worked every bit of those 14 hours each day, and will probably end up doing the same today. Terrible loads, bad weather, wasted time, poor equipment. Didn’t have time to eat, sleep, or shower. I probably made less than $10/hr this week.
The good part is that it has taught me how to be patient and just give up all hope of things going your way.
