Hello everyone i have a quick question. Im not 21 yet but im thinking of possibly getting my CDL once I am so im not restricted to intrastate driving. I wanna know if i could just take jobs one after another and stay on the road for like 6 months at a time without going home.
Im fortunate enough that my parents let me stay with them for free and dont charge me rent, but they are kinda toxic. I hope to buy my own house soon so my plan would be to just drive for 2-3 years and save up as much as possible to get my own house, a decent car, and fund some business ideas (some of which involve trucking as an aspect, another reason i want to learn the industry).
Do companies force you to go home eventually? Or if i kept asking for jobs would they let me keep working? And to clarify i mean do they force you to take days off not the mandatory breaks that you are required to take by law, those i know you cant get out of.
