Why do so many of you guys idle at night? In -1 degrees…. Bunk heaters?

I’m genuinely curious. I am from Canada and every company I have ever works at big or small all have bunk heaters. Are bunk heaters not as common in the USA? I know the trucks don’t put out that bad emissions just idling but still it’s definitely gotta have a slight negative impact on the environment so many of us idling unnecessarily.

Also you guys know if your truck is equipped with a bunk heater it will start no problem in the morning. I drove up northern Quebec -20 Celsius and less people run the truck all night then in oklohama at -1 farenheight. What gives.
