I’m considering starting a side gig in trucking, or if it’s possible, but I have a few questions. I’ve heard that it takes about a month of schooling to get a Class A license. Can I skip the training and just take the test since I already know how to drive and back a trailer?

When I start, will I need to rent a truck initially? I’m hoping to work a few days a week if that’s possible. It seems like there’s a high demand for drivers and good salaries, so I’m wondering if it’s worth the time and effort. Can anyone share their experience with this?
