So Ive been trucking for 6 years and recently this year I switched companies and started living in my company truck since my 8 year relationship ended with me and my gf. Long story short I’ve needed to get maintenance done at the yard and this mechanic who’s been working there since the 80s realized I had been living out the truck and tried telling me that I’m not allowed to run the truck and I need to pay for the extra fuel that I’m running the truck when idling. Then proceeded to say that I’m poor and homeless and treats me like a child which I’m 27 btw not a lil kid. I let that encounter go because I wasn’t working there long. But now I’ve been working there since May and my AC went out and had to go see if he could fix it since he’s the only one there. He gets mad cause one of the tires is low on tread but I’m just sick of dealing with him and I don’t like having to go to maintenance. Next thing he says go stay somewhere for him to fix it i said okay and then he says “we don’t help the homeless here and if I want to stay in truck go work at Schneider”. After this I called my head dispatcher and informed him what’s going on and asked again if it’s a problem with them if I stay in the truck they say “no” I still feel like I’m less than and treated like garbage cause nothing is done with this guy when talking to me that way. What would y’all do in this situation?
