What OTR life like? Is it possible to just do it in a certain region?

Looking at getting a CDL, currently work in sales and I’m sick of all the corporate bullshit. Have to travel for my job and I enjoy driving. I’ve often done 600 miles days. Is it possible to only do OTR in a certain region like the PNW (Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Washington)? The areas I want to live do not have jobs that make use of my current skill set or if they do they are hard to come by or pay like shit.

Anything I should look into or consider? I know google exists but I thought I’d ask for first hand experience.
