Long story short man it is a lot of work to become a school bus driver for California is it this much work for any kind of truck driver in California?
1. Had to go to dmv get a CDL class B permit air brakes endorsement passenger endorsement and (S) for school bus that’s all understandable but this next part is kindof crazy passed the DOT physical
2. Had to go to CHP for a 40 question school bus test only Can miss 6 passed that
3. Next Is a ride along with a CHP officer and demonstrating a pre trip but as of June 1st they are even adding on more things to our school bus pre trip we have to verbally tell the officer each malfunction lamp in the dash board it’s about a 40min pre trip then the driving test with the officer is like a hour and a half
Then I’ll finally have the school bus special certificate and my CDL class B (S) (P)
But for the life of me I can not find that this green APG stands for google can’t find it checking the CDL DMV handbook does not mention it I assume it’s related to the cruise control since that’s next to it
We have to talk about the entire outside of the bus from the lights to the windows to tier parts but now after June 1st they are even adding some engine parts to our list
Feels pretty nervous to have to drive with a CHP officer on the bus any advice and tips? Thanks
