First new truck in a long time for me, it’s a new Volvo from Penske. It’s practically undriveable where I work, in NJ/NY/PA. I don’t tailgait (23 years in big trucks, no chargeable accidents, I get paid by the hour and am not in a hurry), but in NJ there is ALWAYS a car cutting in front of you. This thing beeps loudly at me constantly every time someone changes lanes in front of me, and I’ve had it slam on the brakes for no good reason, almost putting me sideways. There’s no way I’m driving this thing like this in the winter. It keeps backing you off until you’re stuck going 40 mph on the interstate. I’ve heard of taping foil over the sensors, but wanted to know other’s experiences before I go bitching to Penske (cuz then they’ll know I’m looking to mess with their truck).
