I’m currently working for a place hauling a pneumatic tanker. It’s very easy and the pay isnt bad, but its also not the best. I’m 34 and I’ve had a multiple events throughout my life that have re set everything for me. I need to make better money because of this, and from what I’ve heard oil field hauling is where I can do that. I understand dome places like Sisco or us foods can pay better, but from what I understand these oil field gigs are ” unregulated ” and I can drive 7 days a week for 2 or 3 months straight if I want to. I have no kids and I’m single, and I come from a construction background where I would work 70-90 hours a week for 2 weeks straight with a day and a half to 2 days off, so working that much doesn’t bother me.
I intend to get my automatic restriction removed this year and to get a hazmat endorsement as well at some point this upcoming new year in preparation for it, buy does it pay as good as I’ve heard and if so what kind of fluid hauling pays best? Crude oil? Brine water? What should I look for in a company if I’ve never done that kind of hauling? What should I expect from the weather conditions in the bakken/texas/Pennsylvania? Any tips and advice to get a better understanding of what to realistically expect and prepare myself for would be immensely appreciated as well with any advice on what I can realistically earn if I’m willing to work as much as possible for as long as a company will let me.
