So I just finished my 4th week of school at a technical college here. We have 3 more weeks before we start testing. I’m pretty confident with everything except my shifting. My instructors said not to worry…that I’m doing fine and I’ll pick up on it before test day. I sure hope so. Anyway, McElroy came to talk to us this week and it sounds like a wonderful company to work for but they’re all flatbed. He told me straight up that out of all 500 trucks, only 2 are female. The agility test also requires you to be able to lift the 100lb tarp. Now…I did deliver for fedex previously and I definitely couldn’t pick up the 100lb packages over my shoulder. So I feel like I’d be dumb to even go through with the application. Any other good companies that you guys know have great starting pay for new drivers and decent training pay?
