Had this happen to me over the weekend on a camping trip, wife and I stopped at a TA in western-ish Michigan (by Firekeepers Casino, if that helps) for gas and lunch. Well, the parking lot was all car spots, so I went and parked in the truck lot (for the record: Jeep Gladiator and a 20ft camper) and not wanting to be a “bad” RVer, I parked well out in the lot, almost a row past what few trucks there were in the lot.
I double checked in the “buy truck stuff” store attached to the shop to verify I could park there, and went in and enjoyed my lunch.
But, should I, perhaps, have parked even further out? There were 2 more rows of parking behind me. There were no trucks on either side of me at all, I didn’t want to park in the row the trucks were already using closer to the building because, not taking an either spot, I was partly concerned at the possibility of a truck turning into what would appear to be an empty spot, only to see the back end of my camper halfway up the spot.
Basically, was I a good neighbor?
