Trailer with expired temporary permit & no license plate

The loaded trailer I’m picking up is new and has been using a temporary permit with no license plate (piece of paper taped on with the experiency date). The permit expired in August and is a little more than 30 days out of date. The shop says all the paperwork is up to date and I’ll be emailed the trailers updated registration to show DOT at the scales. I’m in Oregon and the trailer’s supposed to go to eastern Montana. The shop where the license plate’s at is up in Seattle. I counted 5 active scales I’d have to cross through. If it were just paperwork but I had a license plate I wouldn’t mind but since the plate is missing I’m a little hesitant. Still waiting on the email and won’t move till I get it but if everything’s up to date on paper should I still worry or not?
