Got a weird one for you guys: Truck I’m assigned to has a tire vibration issue, but only gets bad after about an hour or so of driving at 65 MPH. Front drive axle tires were just replaced last Friday because of tread depth, but that didn’t fix the issue. When I leave the lot the vibration is barely noticeable, but after driving for around an hour the vibration is so bad that the entire cab vibrates and buzzes. It’s like the tires are fine when cold/cool, but after you put some miles and heat in them, they cause vibration. Can’t tell for sure where it’s coming from, but seems to be right side. No vibration in the steering wheel like the steers are out of balance, just feel the buzzing of the vibration caused from the drives.
Vibration cycles from mild to really bad over and over, I’m assuming tires on both axles are turning at slightly different speeds, which causes it to come and go when they go in and out of sync with each other. There’s a gallon jug of DEF sitting on the passenger floor, and you can see it jumping around in the jug like whitecaps on a lake.
I’ve got such a bad headache from last night/this morning that I called in for tonight; my head still feels like it’s vibrating even though I’ve been off duty for 10 hours so far.
