I turn 21 in March and a dedicated CDL school isn’t an option for me at the moment. So I’m looking to sign on with a company that offers CDL training. Right now I have my eye on KLLM a couple hours from me in Jackson, Ms. I’ve thought about TMC or Maverick but I’m a left leg amputee and figure dry van/refrigerated would probably be the better option for me than flatbed at the moment.
I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some insight on KLLM, what’s the starting pay like? Do they have a good training program and how long is it? Are you guys getting good miles? What are the pros and cons there? Any helpful info is appreciated.
Also I’m not dead set on this company but it is one of the better options from what I’ve seen. I don’t want to go somewhere that’s basically going to have me as a “team” driver for my first year like Prime, and I want somewhere I can get decent pay as a rookie (I know im not going to make the most in my first year but i dont want to drive for slave wages either). If you have any recommendations for a decent company with a CDL program I’m all ears.
