So I’m honestly just looking for everyone’s thoughts in not to heated about it anymore, but I’m still annoyed.
So I sent in a home time request for the 24th of this month until the 26th. I then sent a second one from the 8th of July to the 9th. Both were confirmed via a reply!
I worked my month out, and on the 16th, I asked if I was still good for my home time coming up. About 20 minutes after no response, I got a ping that my load was canceled.
Another 10 or so minutes pass, and I get a phone call about my July home time. I was asked if this is what I was referring to. I stated “yes that and the 24th.”
I was then accused of not sending the request while my dispatcher was not in the office. That I need to send these things during the week during his working hours.
I informed him that I sent the request at the exact time he clocks in every day. So it would have been the first thing he would have noticed.
He then blames the after-hours crew for not notifying him of my request for this month and “forgetting” about me. After this, he says he will see what he can do and called the broker.
Apparently, the broker put up a fuss, and to remedy it, he says, “How about instead of the 24th – 26th and 8th -9th we do 8th-10th?”
This is a slap in the face. I’m given 1 day off a week, and we can’t save days. So im working 5 almost 6 weeks with 3 days off that I wanted to spend time with family that were flying in this month…
What steps do I need to start taking? I have planned on making sure to email him next time and using our qualcom but this isn’t the first issue i have had with this company and I have offers else where the only downside would be the transition and getting my stuff out of this truck then orientation.
