Tanker or Reefer Drivers – What Are Your Pros & Cons?

Im new, only 4 months in, dry 53ft OTR. Its not too bad cuz I get to see a different state everyday and home-time isnt important to me. But the pay is crushingly low, im at 55cpm with a Mega carrier that you all have heard of.

My average check per week is $750 usd with no 34s, and close to half that is just the free per diem i get.

Im thinking of either getting a tanker endorsement or seeing what Reefer stuff is available, but I dont know anyone who does either.

Im sure the pay the different, but what are the pitfalls of these two types of loads?

Thoughts?
