Tandems?

So I was backed into a dock this morning getting unloaded. The guy assigned to the door next to me informs me that he can’t back into his door because my tandems are not back. Not the reciever’s requirement. He genuinely believed that having my tandems back somehow made my truck shorter or effected his ability to back into the hole. Am I the idiot here or is this guy just so stupid it makes me feel stupid? I’ve never heard of this before.

It was a normal dock with no special docking equipment.
