I just got ny cdl A yesterday and wasn’t taught much about split shifting. I will be running low boy and dump trailer. Im 26 and mostly just a laborer and operator. I figured fetting my cdl would help my career.

Under load do you always need to split gears into high and low? Do you use it to slow down or just to speed up. Sometimes I’ll split a gear into high, and the transmission will just grind. My coworks said I’m doing something wrong because it never does it to them. Any advice??
