I tested positive for marijuana use but I’ve never smoked or anything. My hair was cut short before the test and was only barely long enough for the 1.5. However my fiancé does smoke. We live in a studio and while she smoked in a bathroom with door closed and fan on is it still possible I could have tested positive through that contact? She has a med card and smokes wax. Either way the lady says it doesn’t go on clearinghouse thank god but how fucked am I really? I applied for swift and I’m halfway through their schooling. I have no idea how I could have tested positive. I have never failed a drug test before this either.
Edit: yeah I’ve been canned. Along with several other people in my class. Was told it’s black and white. This crap is so unfair all I can do is hope they don’t report it too the DAC. It doesn’t help you HAVE to go to school to get your CDL now. Makes getting a job with smaller companies far harder unless you have the cash to pay for it. Is there anyway I can dispute this drug result in the slightest? If I went in for a hair test of my own privately from a DOT certified location could it be used too defend my position in the future?
Edit 2: I got my report I had 3.9 pg in my hair. The minimum confirmation amount is 1pg with a max cutoff of 10pg. As I don’t smoke and I don’t have a large knowledge of this after reading a study it seems to me that for this too be that high I’d have to have smoked consistently or recently for that level of THC in my hair. It rules out any second hand. In the study people were given far more THC than this and tested 10 days later at 4-5pg after a 110% THC injection. This can only be a false positive but I’d love for someone with knowledge to explain this to me. A woman in my class got negative on her hair and smoked by her own admission several blunts every weekend and only stopped ten weeks ago. It seems to me that this hair testing is highly inaccurate.
