Sold our tractor trailer for a dump truck. Instead of interstate hauling we will now be doing local construction work/material hauling. Do we need to change our MC or DOT numbers/get new ones now that we have a different vehicle?

I’m so sorry for the confusing title. This is probably a simple answer but I can’t really find a solution to my question specifically. I’m going to call the SCDOT tomorrow but figured I’d ask here for the hell of it.

So we had a 2001 Volvo VNL and were trucking with it for a while. We’ve changed gears and are going into local construction/material hauling with a dump truck.

Do we have to change anything regarding our MC and DOT numbers? Do we still need both (currently have/had both)? Does the new vehicle get new numbers?

Etc.

I’m so sorry, I’m getting a new business started and there is so much to figure out. I figured one of you lovely guys (or gals!) might be able to help me out.
