Hey all, new guy here, 3 days on the job, looking for advice.
I know the basic theory to sliding tandems and the like – pull the lever, roll forward to slide them back, back to slide them forward, etc.
I’m just having a terrible time with accuracy getting it to – for example – the 41FT mark, and I’m also concerned that I’m not doing it correctly to begin with. Specifically what I’m worried about is where exactly I put my locking pins.
Our trailers have the 41/43FT Marks labeled, but I haven’t been able to get a straight answer out of any of our staff – do you put the front sliding pin (closer to the tractor) under that 41FT Marker, or the rear sliding pin (closer to the trailer)?
