Im Currently 27 years old have been welding for going on eleven years and have thought about making the switch to driver, after 10 years of getting burned, and beat on by the welding industry I just feel like driving local would be way better on me for around the same money, I make 20 dollars an hour and work six days a week and have about zero energy to do anything else. Can y’all give me the honest answer or some insight I maybe haven’t thought about, I know owner op is a pain nowadays and I’m not really looking to be otr due to not feeling like I have enough time at home as it is, but I see local haul for around 20 or higher to start and I at least like driving and you don’t get fucked up everyday like I do now with the burns, smashed bits, the dust holy shit the dust that I know is just killing me faster. It honestly seems like the better and healthier choice for me. Just wanting some opinions, I know a little about it, my father been driving for around 30 years. Thanks.
