I try to avoid blindside backing as much as possible. Dropped a load off yesterday at a customer that I generally like dealing with, so I wanted to put the trailer with all the other trailers from my company (as requested by reciever) instead of elsewhere that would have been a sight side back. Only 2 spots would have been a blindside at the end of the lot.
I get really anxious during a back of what I can’t see, and my mirrors wouldn’t rotate out far enough to see the end of the trailer. Took the curtain off the window on the passenger side of my sleeper, and was able to at the very least confirm I was not going to hit the other trailer for long enough for me to straighten out enough to use my mirrors and eventually straight-line the trailer in.
Have less than 1 year of driving rn, so I’m sure some of the veterans in this sub already know of this trick. Felt weird as hell though to do.
