Does anyone know any CDL holder that’s got an Ancient DUI that’s gone through the process of being let into Canada now that they’ve changed the laws. (They changed it so DUI’s are essentially felony offenses there a few years back.)
There’s different sorts of processes required based on the age of the offense. In my case mine is over 15 years old, I have a passport, and I’m vaccinated, so I’m trying to see what I can do about getting that ball rolling. Technically I can gain citizenship due to my father in 9-16 months or so too and I think that would resolve the issue too but I’m uncertain of whether this would be faster.
I’ve read what the process is for newer ones that are essentially like “rehabilitation.” It seems like if the offense is old enough you’re just considered rehabilitated as is, but I’m not sure if there’s a lot of paperwork still to prove it that might be necessary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
