I might get crucified for this post, but here I am. It seems like most truckers despise recruiters. I just started the position because it offers flexibility I can’t get elsewhere… but I’m realizing every day that we aren’t a welcome crowd.
I’m told we are a “necessary evil” but I can’t stand the term. Is there any way to make this profession less slimy through my personal effort? I don’t have any intention of tricking the backbone of our country into shitty jobs to get paid. I have a lot of respect for drivers, and my conversations are going well only because I’m transparent. But transparency only goes so far if the companies I’m recruiting for drop the ball, so I take note of who people don’t want to work for and I avoid pitching those jobs.
I have very little knowledge of the background and inner workings, I’m just trying to make a living in a way I can sleep at night and raise my child. Is it impossible to be a “good” recruiter in the eyes of drivers? I figured if it was possible, getting from the horses mouth is the way to go.
