Recruiter here, asking for some advice from the trucking community

Hello everyone, so I writing here all in hopes that you might have some insight for me about the trucking business from a drivers perspective. As a recruiter for a trucking company I do expect that most of you will tell me to F off, but I would really appreciate some help…

I have been in the logistics business for a few years now, and recently got a job as a recruiter (my first time doing recruiting in any department) and it started off amazingly, I was doing very well making first contact and getting drivers interested and into the procedure, but as time went on all of the drivers 1 by 1 backed out, stopped responding and/or blocked our number. Most of drivers never showed up to the flight we reserved them and just stopped answering. I was in shock as I saw all of the 30+ drivers, who were in the hiring procedure, just stop answering out of nowhere and I have no idea where I went wrong.

I was polite, I tried not to be pushy, but none of the drivers went through with the hiring process even though they were very interested and tough that our offer was good. Now I’m not saying we have an amazing offer for drivers, its solid and by no means bad, but I just don’t know what is going on.

Just last week I had 3 drivers who loved the offer and wanted to start ASAP and 3 days later all 3 of them blocked my number.

Now I’m not going to lie, I see how the situation is in the States and I know how terrible most of these companies are, they treat the drivers like shit, and I’ve only been with this company for 3 months now, so I cannot tell if they are good or bad, currently I started to get a feeling they might be bad, since I cannot believe that all of the drivers would back out because of me?

But still I was hoping if you can give me some insight, what pisses you off as drivers and what makes you back off from a position, or what are some red flags for you, is the the recruiter who puts you off or the company reputation, the offer? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
