I’m looking for recommendations & recipe sources for “chaining” prepared ingredients throughout a week.
Recently my girlfriend showed me the [The Veggie newsletter from NYT cooking](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/13/dining/vegetarian-meal-plan-lunch-ideas.html), which published a meal plan for the week where ingredients were “chained” in the sense that you would prep a few ingredients ahead of time and recombine them into 3 recipes throughout the week, assembling fresh meals quickly using prepared ingredients.
I love this loose approach to meal prep—finding shared ingredients that can be prepped ahead of time and then recombined into different fresh quick meals. It’s like a compromise between making things fresh each day and making things ahead of time. I like the freshness and variety more than my typical meal prep when I make one or more entire dishes ahead of time.
Is there a name for this type of “chained ingredient” meal planning/prep? Do you have any suggestions for newsletters, blogs, or recipe sources that focus on this kind of meal planning & prep?
