Hey guys. So I just started driving 3 months ago. Last night I was driving and ran out of drive time. I was trying to make it back to the yard so I could get to my personal vehicle and get home that night. I fell 3 miles short from the yard. I texted my safety directed to see if it was okay to PC but never got a response so I made a judgement call and PC’d. I get a text back this morning saying “ No, pull over and park for your 10 hr break.” I was delivering steel 22 miles from our terminal. I went past the town I was suppose to deliver in so i don’t believe it would fall under “advancing the load” or anything like that. After passing my delivery point I was simply on the mission to get to my personal vehicle and head home for the weekend. My company is real strict about following DOT/FMCSA rules. Was this an appropriate instance to use PC?
