Question about getting a CDL.

So, I failed a DOT/FAA random drug screen in 2019. Didn’t pursue the whole SAP process of getting it cleared bc I wasn’t really happy with the field anyway. I do something that doesn’t have anything to do with the DOT but my company may have need of a truck requiring a Class B CDL just to transport some products we manufacture, steel and aluminum. I was asked if I’d be willing to go to the courses, etc etc. So would having failed a drug screening in 2019 keep me from obtaining a CDL or just from having DOT employment?
