Small carrier 5-10 trucks, looking to go specialized.
Just starting some research into which specialization might be more profitable. I’ve run most everything except heavy haul and produce. The rates for OD seem very high as do the hazmat rates I have run tanker and van hazmat.
I would guess in the long run there is more maintenance permits and upkeep to an od fleet. As to more insurance and epa compliance on the hazmat side.
Has anyone been involved in both ? I’m leaning toward hazmat initially but could very easily be dissuaded
Maybe it’s a wash. Maybe a smaller fleet size leans toward OD. ?
