While back a guy got slammed on manslaughter for a truck accident where his brakes failed.

Anyone know specifics? I was interested in getting my CDL.
Were the brakes failing found to be a result of his own negligence? IE a situation where he owned the truck and did private hauling and failed to keep brake maintenance in line with industry standards?

Because the job I would probably go for, the truck would likely be maintained by the company, so if I’m driving for the company, its their trucks and their maintenance liability? Is there any less to concern yourself with here?
