Owner Operators, what are some specs/customizations that you believe everyone ought to have when ordering their own new Freightliner truck?

I’m planning on putting an order for a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia 10 speed through the dealer, but would like to have some suggestions on specs/customizations that I may overlook myself, so that way I get the most out of my freightliner truck.

For reference, I generally haul around 38,000lbs – 44,000lbs average and go up and down mountains a lot.

Off the top of my head, things that I like for example are:

– Engine fan on/off switch in the cab for when climbing mountains

– Driver side seat battery “kill switch”

– Utility lamp that turns on lights at the back of the truck

– Premium seats for more comfortability

What are other things I should add before locking in with the dealer?

And also, for my line of work and the weight I haul, is it better to go with DD15 505HP or DD16 600HP? What is the average MPG difference between the two?
