I’ve decided to stick with my current company and finish out the contract in order to get a year of experience in.
I told my manager I want to get into hauling oversized loads and they gave me the basic gist of how things would go and what the pay would be.
One of the main things is that I’d have to follow the routing given to me to a T, but as you know construction and closed exits happen. Any advice on dealing with things like that and also anything else you might want to share would be greatly appreciated.
If you’re curious, I decided to get into oversized for the new challenge, extra pay and experience for heavy haul if I decided to eventually go that route, but if I’m being honest the main reason is to be able to tell people I can legally drive their Mom across the US!
