basically anything north of Fargo is a skating rink in a blizzard. Minimal visibility, straight ice, blowing snow …. Seen more then a few in the ditch. Best option is park it and wait it out.
But if you have to go, some advise from a friendly snow Mexican.
– keep it slow.
– avoid sudden changes in speed or direction.
– increase following distance to as much as possible.
– don’t go from gas to brake in one motion. Let the truck “coast” a little and use small corrections.
– give them snow banks on the corners a wider then usual clearance. They can suck your trailer in.
– do NOT brake during a turn. Brake before hand, then coast/steer the curve, and accelerate gently once past the apex and clear.
