I love night driving, been doing it consistently for three years. There’s less traffic out, scales are generally closed, and officers have usually called it a day too, so no bs inspections, but with the world being run by daylight, it compounds any issues that arise.
Currently sitting on US93 NB, 10 miles south of Wells with three flats because somebody’s chains fell off, wrapped around my rims, and wreaked havoc on my rubber. Local tire place wants 2500 just to come out, then the cost of 3 tires on top of it. Petro and Loves shops don’t open until 0600PST.
TL:DR
If you drive at night, make sure you can see and you have big money to deal with big issues.
