Niche job or Mega Carrier?

I recently graduated. The industry I’ve been in for several years has some rare jobs that require a CDL. I’m contemplating weather I should go after something niche like this or start with a mega carrier. Obviously the training would look different and another thing to consider is that the niche area type of work experiences layoffs every couple of years. Why i got my cdl. The flip side is better pay to start with hotels and per diem and a little better work life balance. The other thing it is not a tractor trailer they’re usually trucks with trailers that require a cdl. Anyone know if mega carriers count this type of vehicle towards driving experience? Is it better to start out with a mega carrier vs going niche for future job opportunities in the industry?
