New truck question!

Hello everybody,I have a quick question for anyone who runs or if familiar with automatic 2022 freightliner cascadias. I haul for a lumber company and they just bought these 2 new trucks. We live in the hill country but it isn’t really that bad. I know to switch between economy, performance and manual but when I’m loaded down is tough to get it up to and maintain speed, in either truck. When I use manual it usually ends up switching to automatic on its own and I can’t get it back until I make a complete stop. Is there something I’m missing to run it correctly?
