titles says it all. failed a drug test (pot) back in april. took 3.5 months for it to be undetectable in my system but my employer told me on week 9 of being at home that their policy was 6 weeks max. got fired, whatever, it’s my fault. haven’t smoked in 9 months, but after 2 new jobs i still cannot start my return to duty process.
first new job was a company that didn’t have a DOT number, so they couldn’t report my tests to the clearinghouse or whatever.
started a new job today with a company that *has* a DOT number, but because i’m not actively “using” my CDL because we’re driving pick up trucks under 26k lbs i still am not eligible to initiate a return to duty test.
what the fuck. i’m at my wits end here. i talked to my SAP guy and tried even just paying for and taking the random tests on my own through a third party testing agency, and that’s not allowed. what the fuck am i supposed to do here ?? worst part of all this, i only have my goddamn permit. it expires in april and i’m not sure i can even take my tests unless i start a RTD program.
in my assigned courses, it stated that some 80% of drivers who fail a drug test don’t ever complete the return to duty process, and i know why. the DOT makes it nearly impossible to fix a simple fuck up.
does anybody have any advice on my next step forward ?? feels like my SAP guy doesn’t give a single shit that i’m fully prepared to walk in his office and piss in his mug so he can determine i’m clean. paid him $500 back in april so i guess his fucking job is done.
