Need help with CDL information.

Hey Guys, no idea if this is oaky but I don’t see anything against it.

I work in HR and I am putting a CDL program together for employees in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

I am having a hard time understanding these questions:

If we send employees to a online course to meet the written part of their ELDT, do they then have to get their CLP and drive with someone who is a licensed CDL instructor?

Or

Does it work like a regular learners permit where you get your temp and you can drive with anyone with a license?

Try to avoid sending them to a full fledge CDL program as it’s very expensive. If we can outsource the written side, and do training in-house that would ideal.
