Before I get into specifics, I do not want to be an owner operator. I don’t want the hassle, because I do not see myself doing this much longer.
Onto the story. My company hauls ag product, wheat, malt, flour, etc. We have company drivers (which I am) and owner ops with ELD exempt trucks. So they run paper…
The owner ops get all the loads, the company knowingly dispatches them on loads they know aren’t possible with HOS. I ran a load the other day with an owner op, same pickup, same delivery. We get back to the yard and I’m done hours wise. But he gets a “hot load” and dispatched on a 200+ mile run of flour and off he goes. He will be running 20+ hours and making way more than me.
What do I do here? I want to blow the whistle on this crap, cause I feel it’s unfair to me. Anytime I even PC I have to explain myself. But their owner ops run multiple log books and get double the loads I get.
I have to scrutinize my paycheck every week just to make sure I’m getting paid what I should be.
Thoughts?
