I don’t know why he would do this, my initial inclination, is to politely take him up on the offer, so I did.
Boy was that a mistake.
He’s got 4 kids and an alcoholic wife who supposedly homeschools the kids+holds down the fort. She drinks maybe a 5th a day roughly.
THe front yard had garbage strewn in it. The surfaces were sticky. GO in the bathroom, it’s got soiled jeans that didn’t get moved for at least 3 days. A smashed cockroach was on the ground with a line of ants. No soap because the kids mess with the soap, I have to wash my hands in the kitchen, using dawn dish soap.
The microwave buttons were caked with little greasy finger prints, I used the back of my pinky and picked out the least greasy buttons to heat up the water for my ramen cup…open the microwave door, it’s an utter disaster in there.
The kitchen…no details necessary, I didn’t feel it was safe food preparation surfaces to put it lightly.
After some food was eaten, I noticed one of the kids left an open plate of food sitting on the ground. THe dog is penned inside and pisses and shits on the hardwood floors. THe laundry room floor was 1-2 feet deep of clothes discardeded/on the ground.
One of the times I went to the bathroom, it didn’t flush, apparently the kids flushed baby wipes down the toilet. I took a massive duece.
I Don’t understand this way of living, does this sound normal? It came off as super fucked up, i thought that house was one of the ugliest, smelliest, worst places I’ve ever been.
Oh and then when we brought the truck to my place 650 miles away…I didn’t want to do hometime with HIM. He can take the bobtail, he can drive around, restaurants, parks, sportsgames. No. Because “He welcomed me into his household, he thinks he should be allowed over at my household on hometime”. He said “Maybe I’ll leave you at the love’s next time” and I said “Don’t you dare threaten me with a good time”. Dude, we ain’t brothers, we ain’t family, and after 4 months of driving with you non-stop, I need some space/privacy to myself for once.
Oh, I’ll end it there, but on top of it all, his cars interior was just as disastrous as his house, I called his KIa Minivan “THe Garbage Mobile”, he’s gonna have me sit in a car with garbage laying everywhere, sticky surfaces, garbage on the floors…I don’t want to be invited into that shit, and he’s trying to incorporate into his family, his kids are gonna call me “Uncle J—-“. I don’t want to be any part of that family.
How normal is it for people+their wives/kids to live with rotting garbage strewn about their homes and stuff? Is that normal?
