So I’m going to CDL school to learn to drive manual (18-speed) transmission. I know most companies have already switched to auto transmissions, yet I enjoy a good challenge so I’m doing it anyways. Yet, I was just curious how relevant the training is going to be and realistically what are the chances of a driving job with manual transmission. Most of the job postings I see are for automatic, and most of the drivers I see on social media also drive automatic. Also, does manual transmission jobs tend to pay more, less, or equal? Thanks in advance for any input!!!
