Just got my Class 1/CDL in Alberta, Canada a month ago and i’ve been working my first trucking job ever since, but i’m only running like twice a week, 3 if i’m lucky right now. 0.45/mile and $20 for drops/loads. theres a 0.05/mile bonus after 3 months but i’m making less than I was on Employment Insurance. Should I stick it out for my year or is there a better option for new driver to get more experience? I’ve applied to Walmart as they seem pretty good but I’m just not sure what other companies would be great. I’d prefer to do regional as opposed to local p&d or long haul but I guess I really can’t be picky yet. Need that 1/2 years first. I’m open to moving cities for work so location doesn’t matter but I would prefer to remain in Alberta.

To put it into perspective I only netted $930 in 15 days.
