So I recently got my CDL at the beginning of June, I am finishing up with a trainer now and should be going solo sometime next week. I would prefer to carry a handgun with me while on the road but my company doesn’t allow it, they have a “no firearm or any weapons” policy. However it seems like most people carry nonetheless. I got my CDL through my company and most my instructors were saying that most drivers carry anyways and dropping not so subtle statements that they did when they were driving as well. It’s not like the company actually checks.
I am not an extreme gun nut (no offense), I didn’t grow up around firearms, my family didn’t own any. It’s not something I take like very passionately, but like gun supporters say, “better to have it and not need it than not having it and needing it”.
So just looking for advice.
