I’m considering buying a truck and trailer and getting back into flatbed. Is it likely that I’ll be able to lease on and operate under another carrier’s authority if I’m blackballed? Or would it be unlikely and will I just be better off operating under my own authority. For context, I have 4 months flatbed experience, a year of straight truck, and likely have the big no-no of abandoning a truck on my DAC report. Leasing on is just such a blurry grey middle ground between being employed and being self-employed, I’m not sure how critical of things they may be.
Also, I didn’t come to get lectured on being an O/O, and I’m not here to get told I can’t leave trucks and trailers all willy-nilly across the U.S.; I’m a big boy, I knew what the consequences of my actions would be before I did them, and I don’t regret the price I’m paying, because screw that company.
