Hey guys, not sure if this belongs here or in R/trueoffmychest but here it goes. I had planned a home time with family from 9/29 – 10/4 in Central West Florida. Ian hit, and that was the end of fun. For you guys out on the road, you have no idea the utter devastation I have seen in the last week. Hurricanes take structures, but whole roadways are missing, some areas that were thriving communities on Monday, are just gone as if they never existed. It was… well there aren’t words.
Still, by Sunday, there were trucks bring water, food, help. Yes, I went with every power tool my father owned because strong backs were needed, and I was hoping to find out if family was okay, but what I found swelled my faith in us. I saw drivers pull in, open their doors, and then join the people handing out what they brought, hooking up power banks to their inverters so people could charge phones while they unloaded, and a thousand other little things.
For every one of you who are bring life to a people in need, bless you a thousand times over. You have no idea what it meant to some of us.
We will rise again thanks to you guys and girls. Stay safe in all you do for us, and thanks.
