Been driving for around 3.5 years myself. Pretty decent I think, I ain’t no super trucker, but the only two incidents I’ve had have just involved my truck, clipped a jersey barrier on my blindside backing up ripped off half my bumper another time tried doing way to tight of a u turn in a truck stopped and knocked off my cabin extenders, never backed into another truck been in any kind of accident on the road etc.
Well this evening I get to a small warehouse and the dude is last door available is 18 think you can get in there? I was like probably I asked do you have trucks that can’t? He said every day. Couldn’t sit side it had to do a blindside and it was so tight I was constantly setting my brakes and getting out or sticking my head out the passenger window. Eventually the dude next to me gets out of his truck and was trying to guide me in, eventually he was like just pull forward and I’ll drop my trailer I was like oh my god yes that would give me just a little more room and make this a lot easier. So he does get it in pretty easily after that, still being cautious another driver comes out of his truck in the row and helps spot me. I honestly don’t think I could have done it had he not disconnected from his trailer.
I told him thanks and everything tried to hand him so cash for the help and he just laughed and said no don’t worry about it we got to help each other out out here. I’m like we need more drivers with that kind of attitude out here.
I know some dudes don’t like to offer help cause a lot of drivers are maybe not new and just struggling that day and cough an attitude, and I know some of y’all will help if asked, but I absolutely will never give another driver an attitude or anything if he comes over and offers help I actually really appreciate it we can all use an extra set of eyes, or a dude going you know what let me just drop my trailer real quick, every once in a while.
