Not sure how other people feel, but for me it was exciting at first, but a few months into it it’s embarrassing and frustrating how much I absolutely do not know. I wish I would have earned it a different way, instead I went to school for 8 or 9 weeks for it. Barely any drive time, kinda just taught us how to pass a test, didn’t really teach much at all. Luckily I didn’t pay anything at all for my license, but the fact it was $6,000 is an unfunny joke. Right now I’m driving class B, trying to research and learn everything that comes to mind. I enjoy my job, I am quick with learning because I want to learn, but I’m not quick enough to learn everything in 8 weeks. I guess I just don’t like the fact I have a class A CDL yet haven’t spent but a few hours behind the wheel. If ever offered a class A position I will be honest and say I know nothing, but man it’s not a good feeling. I want to learn a lot more than the little bit I was taught. I’m not trying to blame anyone for my inexperience either, I strongly just feel like I should know a lot more.
