I have been heavy haul trucking for 5 years now. And it feels like truckers arnt willing to help out at all. I hear story’s back in the day where if you had your hazards on, a trucker would pull over and help. Or at the minimum ask if your ok over the CB.
Today I was at a truck stop and was asking fellow truckers if I could borrow a couple wrenches, because I was having problems with my brakes. And everyone got super defensive. “WHY DO YOU NEED THEM”. shit, chill man. I’m just trying to cage one of my brakes to be able to get it to a shop. “YOU CAN’T DO THAT! YOUR BRAKES ARE PROBABLY JUST FROZEN”. no man, i tried pounding my brakes, and adding saftey-brake. my slack is dynamite’d. Something is wrong. “WELL I’M NOT HELPING YOU”.
I understand if that person doesn’t want to help, or borrow me tools, but he didn’t have to yell and treat me like a child.
Sorry, I’m just venting.
Any of you have good/bad experiences?
