Is it normal for a prior truck driver to miss the truck and road?

I have been off the road for a month and a half. I moved into a Safety Coordinator position at a completely separate company so I could be home to see my child grow up. His attitude as completely changed for the better since I’ve been home. I’ve worked towards this position for a long time. However, I find myself having a difficult rime sitting behind a desk and only going out to do random checks on employees, instruct drivers, cpr classes, fall protection classes, and hold safety meetings.

I love the freedom of movement I have now, not stuck in truck stops, having an easier time cooking without much hassle, but I long for the road and my truck.

Is it normal to long for the road and the truck I drove for 8 years?
